Was born Busfeild - ref 1881 census.
Her grandfather wrote in the Fragments, p. 78, that her godmother was her aunt, Mrs Townley Woodman. She was Mary Skelton Busfeild, eldest dau of Johnson Atkinson Busfeild, her grandfather. Now the question is what, if anything, was the relationship between her husband and the Townley Woodmans?
In 1911 he reported that they had been married for three years and had no children.

Notes for Edward Pelly & Emily Mary (Family)
FreeBMD has a marriage for Edward Pelly Woodman in West Ward, Westmorland in Q2 of 1887. But his apparent bride, on the same page as EPW, is Alice Mary Southwell, which just has to be wrong. Vol 10b, p. 995. But I can’t find an entry for Emily Mary Busfeild at all.
