From the wedding notice in The Times of Thursday 25 May 1889:

"On the 15th inst at St Mary's Parish Church, Wallingford by the Rev C Hutchinson Edwards, father of the bridegroom, and the Rev George Clements, of London, CHAS WRIGHT EDWARDS, M.R.C.S and L.R.C.P London, of The Chalet, Mill Hill S W., to Sarah, widow of the late W R LYBBE POWYS-LYBBE, Esq, of The Croft, Wallingford, Berks"

From the Medical Directory 1925:

"Charles Wright Edwards, Woolton Manor, North Carbury, Somerset (retired) F.R.C.S. Ed 1898, M.R.C.S, L.R.C.P London 1888 (Middx).  Late Senior Serg, Wincanton Hosp; Surg, East Grinstead Cott Hosp"

He was last in a medical directory in 1946.

In the 1881 census he was living with a grandmother, Elizabeth Marsh, at 4 Lidlington Place, St Pancras, London.

May 2004, TFPL: In the 1891 census he was a Lieut of the 1st Battalion of the West Yorkshire regiment and living at The Bungalow, Burghfield Common, Nr Newbury, Berks, aged 28 (correct).  With him were his wife and four step-children and a cook, housemaid and footman, doubtless paid for from the trustees of his wife and step-children - as subalterns were not paid much then, or later.

In the 1901 census he was living with his wife and daughter at 11 High St, Wincanton, Somerset, a surgeon aged 38 and born in London.  His household was the three of them plus three servants, the parlourmaid of whom, Emily Willcock, came from Wallingford.

TFPL, Jul 2006: I have searched the death indexes for 1944 and 1945 and cannot find him in any of them.  But in fact found on FindMypast for Q2 of 1946.

TFPL, Jul 2009: In the 1911 census he was a General medical practitioner living in The Dogs, Wincanton, (Wilts).  His entry for his wife said that they had been married for 14 years, she had had only one child who was still living; but she was not in the house but at school in Clevedon, Bristol.

Note that on the marriage register she gave her age as 38.  So her age was not concealed from her husband, rather he seems to have concealed it from others.
