Notes for Richard Bradford Behrens Hawkins
On his dau’s marriage cert his first name was Michael but on the 1881 census he was Richard. At death he was also Richard so I have changed his first name to that.
In 1881 he was a solicitor living at Park St Woodstock, Oxon with his wife, three daus a governess and three servants. He was 56 and born in Compton Beauchamp Rectory, Berks (so his father was a rector?). His wife Jane S (Hawkins) was 36 and born at Balladoole House, isle of Man.
TFPL, Mar 2008: From Richard Bosman: Richard Hawkins was the first cousin of Robert Samuel Hawkins whom married Lucy Tancred who is of the Lawson Tancred family that became Hans Hamilton descendants in a later generation. See Burke’s Peerage of 2003, vol II, p. 2266, for R S Hawkins.
