TFPL, June 2021: So far I have not been able to find any clear record of any marriage for him.  However two marriages are asserted for him:

1. Before 1927, a marriage to a Dora Walker followed by the birth in 1927 of their son John Laurie Conyers Hallifax.

2. C. 1946 a marriage mentioned without the wife’s name in J S H’s death certificate.  There is a chance that I can find a record for this.

I have two private sources for John Staniford’s son John Laurie C Hallifax:

First there is a Family Tree that had been in the possessions of my aunt, Nancy Pethick (née Ferrand).  This says that John Staniford Hallifax married Dora Walker and in 1927 they had a son called ‘Laurie John’ but later erased and revised to John Laurie C.

Second I have been contacted by a son of John Laurie C Hallifax who has confirmed his ancestry and said that his father was born in Zastron, South Africa.

BUT neither of these have been able to provide any public records to confirm either the marriage to Dora Walker or the birth of J L C Hallifax.

It is now 12 years since J L C H’s death in England and I have still found no publicly verifiable information.  So I am changing the records for John Laurie Conyers and Dora Walker to Private so they will not been seen on the internet.

I had found it impossible to obtain any record of John Staniford’s death.

So I looked through the English probate records for his will from 1939 to, so far, 2002 when he would have been 103, a tad far stretched.  No will was found.
