No baptisms of that name found in Staffs.

Ho Hum!  her name is written as ‘Byan’ on the marriage register.  But the birth records for her children have her maiden name as Bryan, so this is what I have altered it to.

We know from the 1851 censuses, see her daughter Mary’s husband’s Misc Notes, that she was born around 1809 and in Staffs so I used this for a search for her baptism and came up with an image of the baptism register which I have transcribed:

Baptism Year:    1808
Baptism month:   April
Baptism date:    10
Surname:         Bryan
Child’s name:    Louisa
Sex:             dr of
Parents:         Saml. & Ann
Birth date:      April 8th [1808]
Abode:           Lower lane

Church:          St Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke on Trent

In 1961 she was at Daniel Street, Burslem, Wolstanton, Staffordshire and thus not far from her eldest daughter Mary and her expanding family. Note that she gave a different birth place and said her birth was five years before the year she gave in 1951.  She gave identical birth years for her children to those in the 1951:

First name(s)  Last name  Relationship  Marital status  Sex  Age  Birth year  Occupation  Birth place
