Notes for Louisa Brown
March 2021, TFPL: her definite baptism has been found, image downloaded, transcript by me:
[ Camden > St Andrew, Holburn > London ]
“Christenings in July 1896
“. . . .
“Louisa Daugtr. of George Brown Gentm. & Margaret his wife Ely Place 7”
Her birth date is only known from a list written probably by her brother William (born Brown but changed to Trotter).

The following were my early attempts to obtain information:_
Far too many LB deaths on FreeBMD to begin to guess her death date.
Did she marry a Beresford? if so, she was a widow to one in 1881. Probably the marriage was before 1837.
Yes, the 1871 census proves this with her sister Margaret living with her:

In 1861 she was aslo a widow and living at 7 Belvedere Church Road, Tunbridge Wells. But no relatives with her.

In 1881 her niece by her brother Henry, Ethel Louisa Brown was with her at 17, Church Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent and four servants.
_____________________
In 1891 her widowed step-daughter Sydney (Holloway by then) and another niece by Henry, Alice Margaret Brown, were with her at Church Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They were down to a parsimonious three servants then. Sydney died in 1896, in Devizes.

IGI has a marriage on 1 Jun 1836 between a Louisa Brown and a Hamilton Sydney Beresford at Bolney, Sussex. Film, source call no 1068521.
If this is relevant, then he died in 1847:
Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page
Deaths Jun 1847
Beresford Hamilton Sydney Islington 3 165
But neither Hamilton nor Laura are to be found in the 1841 census. Abroad? Possibly in Ireland where his family came from.
TFPL, March 2021: their marriage and his death, with will, are absolutely confirmed. He had had three children by a first marriage.

No baptisms of any Beresford children with a father’s first name of Hamilton.
No births registered from 1837 to 1841, when she would have been 45.

Will notes for Louisa Brown
Her probate index:
923 BERESFORD Louisa of 17 Belvedere Tunbridge Wells widow died 18 July 1894 Probate London 1 September to Ernext Balfour Trotter and William Hamilton Pott esquires Effects £14407 6s. 5d. Resworn Aug 1899 £14490.16.5.
Ernest Balfour was her youngest nephew. Can’t find any connection to William Hamilton Pott; might have been on her husband’s side.
June 2021, TFPL: Now that I have done all the Maclean-Brown descendants, I can report that William Hamilton Pott was the grandson of Jean Maclean, née Brown; Jean was the elder sister of Louisa by about 8 years and so William was the great-nephew of Louisa.
I have ordered Louisa’s will, 9 Jun 2021. Delivered 11 Jun 2021.
_____________________
Her will was dated 14th October 1891, with addition documents dated Oct 1891, a codicil of 7th July 1892, and a second codicil of 24th May 1894.
She listed:
1. Her executors as above,
2. Sydney Holloway the surviving daughter of her late husband,
3. Her late brother William Trotter (my ggg-f),
4. Samuel Frederick Holloway, the son of Sydney Holloway,
5. Her great niece Phyllis Ward, daughter of her late niece Maria Georgina Haig
6. Her five nieces:
(a) Margaret Anne Leversage, (born Maclean)
(b) Jean Sibella Carrie, (born Maclean)
(c) Alice Margaret Brown, (her niece by her brother Henry Brown)
(d) Constance isabella Grey (her niece by her brother Henry Brown)
(e) Ethel Louisa Haslam (her niece by her brother Henry Brown)
7. Her dear sister-in-law Hannah Brown (wife of her brother George Brown)
8. Her niece Anne Pott (born Maclean)
9. Her niece Ada Dorothy Overbury (her niece by her brother Henry Brown)
10. Her niece Helen Mary Wood, (her niece by her brother Henry Brown)
11. Her niece Lucy Carroll, (her niece by her sister Mary Frances Brown)
12. Mrs Leversage, (probably Margaret Ann born Maclean)
13. Mrs Purefoy Fitzgerald, (probably the daughter Henrietta Mary Chester
of her first cousin Henrietta born Brown,
the daughter of her uncle William Brown)
I have not included any Holloways in this genealogy as they are not descendants of ancestors, though I could change my mind as they were important to Louisa.
Anyhow all the above catalogue of relations are otherwise fully accounted for, which is good.
