Notes for Helen Powys
I can find nothing of her in the 1851 census as Powys or in the censuses after her marriage.
But in 1851 she and her two sisters were with their widowed uncle Thomas Powys in Westwood Hall, Cheddleton, Staffordshire. I wonder if they were escaping their mother’s second marriage?
TFPL, Sept 2016: This looks very much like her in 1881, but already widowed, and with a son who was born in Crayke, which is where Thomas Greenwood her husband had come from:
First name(s) Last name Relationship Marital status Gender Age Birth year Occupation Birth place
Helen Greenwood Head Widow Female 50 1831 - The Mumbles, Glamorganshire, Wales

And then I found this 1871 candidate for her and her three children, all of them born in Crayke, Yorks:
First name(s) Last name Relationship Marital status Gender Age Birth year Occupation Birth place
Hellen Greenwood Head - Female 40 1831 - Glamorgan

Note that ten years later, Caroline had been promoted from governess to friend.
_______________
In 1871 she was co-executor of Catherine Ansdell’s, her aunt, will.
_______________
This looks like her death as the age is right and she had been living in Alderbury in 1881:
Surname First name(s) Age District Vol Page
Deaths Sep 1890 (>99%)
Greenwood Helen 60 Alderbury 5a 94
Confirmed by the will probate entry (which see).
