On his death certificate he was a banker and the informant was Eliza Dixon who was present at the death.
From the Bradford Observer of 13 April 1880:
He [Alfred Harris] was the youngest of three brothers... The elder brother Mr Charles Harris was a gentleman of well known liberality. He was in early life connected with the management of the Bradord Old Bank, established as a private concern by Mr Edmund Peckover in 1804 [note that the Harris's mother was a Peckover], and carried on by him for many years until Mr Charles Harris and his brothers Henry and Alfred took up the management when it became known as Harris' Bank. Charles Harris resided at Eastbrook House at a time when Peckover Walks was a quiet suburb of Bradford. ...

From Harold Waring Atkinson's book on the Atkinsons, etc granted and confirmed on 23rd May 1877 "as the Armorial bearing hitherto used by him do not appear to have been recorded for his family":
Arms: Azure on a chevron ermine between 3 hedgehogs and in the centre chief point a bundle of reeds erect or, bended vert, three ears of wheat slipped of the last.
Crest: On a wreath of the colours in front of a demi-pelican rising argent vulning herself, charged on the neck with 3 guttes de sang (drops of blood) and gorged with a collar gemel azure, a bundle of reeds fesswise proper, banded vert.
