In 1970 there was a marriage of a Anthony F Archer and a Carol A Pilkington in Warley, Worcs. It might, or might not, have been him but I have yet to decide it is worth £11 to buy the marriage certificate.

This death index on FindMyPast looks like him even though his second name is wrong, but giving a birth date which agrees with the above date from Burke:

His probate gives his full set of forenames, a death date of 25 July 1993 and a death place in Surrey so it looks like the death index is talking of him, albeit with an incorrect second forename.
Ordering his will would almost certainly show if any surviving wife and children were around, if I can order it.
