So she was born in 1826 or earlier and the birth of around December 1825 fits nicely with this and with the fact that at marriage she gave her residence as Cheetham and her father as Edward. IN the 1851 census she said she was 26 and born in Manchester, lancs.

27 May Letters of Administration of the Rest of the Personal estate and effects of Frances Stopford (Wife of James Sydney Stopford, Esquire) formerly of Austin Friars but late of New-Broad-street in the City of London deceaased who died 20 September 1856 at Woodmansterne in the County of Surrey were granted at the Principal registry to the said James Sydney Stopford of 18 Saville-row Burlington-Gardens in the County of Middlex he having been first sworn. Limited Probate Prerogative Court Canterbury October 1856.
This gave her precise date and the place of death, which the PCC never gave.
