Vivian had this sibling:
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname:
BOYD-CARPENTER, GILBERT DENYS EWART HAYDON
GRO Reference: 1907 M Quarter in PADDINGTON Volume 01A Page 67
In 1901 his father was William Boyd Boyd-Carpenter, married, aged 31, born in Tetsworth Oxon and a Private Secretary. Lina was not to be seen, nor could I find her anywhere else on this census.
In 1911 he was with his parents and with one younger brother, Denys. His parents had been married for sixteen years (true) and had two children both of whom were living. His father was a Private Secretary (‘Now unemployed’). They had three servants. Vivian Foster William B-C was the son of William B-C, born in 1870 in Tetsworth, Oxfords, and Lina Frederika Marie Mordwinoff, born in 1872 in Ashford Kent and née Haydon. In 1939 Lina was on her own, but married, in Tickhill, Yorks, born on 16th August 1971; she died, a widow, in Doncaster district in 1961. But there is no sign of William, father of Vivian, in either the 1939 Register or on any death index, not even on FindMyPast’s ‘World’ data.
In 1881 William Boyd-Carpenter, with a hyphen, was 11, born at Tetsworth, Kent(?) and was at school in Brighton, Sussex.

The marriage of Vivian’s parents:
The image of the parish register is on FindMyPast and is transcribed below. It gave the date of 1894.
By Searching for Lina Haydon’s marriage in 1894, the civil index record was found in York district, Vol 9D, p. 1; his surname was given as Carpenter.
On Oct 2 1894 William Boyd-Carpenter married Lina Frederika Marie Mordevinoff Haydon at Askham Richard church, Yorks:

Vivian’s mother’s baptism image is available on FindMyPast and is transcribed by me:
“Baptisms solemnized in the Consolidated Chapelry of Sandgate in the County of Kent in the Year 1871
“. . . .
“Born: Aug 16th 1871
“When Baptized: Nov 1 1871

“Child’s Forename: Lina Frederica Marie Mordwinoff
“Parents’ Forenames: Frederic Wordsworth & Robina
“Parents’ surname: Haydon
“Abode: Fairseat Sevenoaks
“Profession: Gentleman
“Celebrant: Samuel Chipley, curate
Lina’s birth date agrees with her age at marriage in 1894 of 23. No civil birth registration can be found.
In 1881 her father was a widower and she had a brother Andrew, a year younger and born in 1872.
In 1891 she was orphaned and with a cousin Clara Kennedy in Park Hill, Wetherby. I wonder if this Clara was then the witness Clara Fairbairn at Lina’s wedding in 1894?

ThePeerage.com has provided the clue that the family name was Carpenter with an honoured last forename of Boyd. This gives this birth:
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname:
CARPENTER, WILLIAM BOYD PEERS
GRO Reference: 1869 D Quarter in THAME Volume 03A Page 581
The daughters born before the 1871 census were:

GRO Reference: 1866 D Quarter in THAME Volume 03A Page 549
CARPENTER, MINNIE PEERS
GRO Reference: 1867 D Quarter in THAME Volume 03A Page 549

GRO Reference: 1868 D Quarter in THAME Volume 03A Page 580
CARPENTER, ANNIE PEERS
GRO Reference: 1870 D Quarter in THAME Volume 03A Page 573
The elder son Henry may be this entry, though he was always written as born in Tetsworth which is in Thame district:
CARPENTER, HENRY GEORGE CARPENTER -
GRO Reference: 1866 S Quarter in PANCRAS Volume 01B Page 53
This leads to the 1871 census showing William B, his father William B Carpenter, Vicar of St James of Holloway, his mother Harriet C Carpenter, and elder brother, three elder sisters and one younger sister, all living on Highbury Hill. In 1871 all the children were said to be born in Tetsworth, Oxfordshire.
In 1872 a brother was born:
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname:
CARPENTER, JOHN PEERS PEERS
GRO Reference: 1872 M Quarter in ISLINGTON Volume 01B Page 316
In 1873 another brother was born:
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname:
CARPENTER, ARCHIBALD BOYD PEERS
GRO Reference: 1873 J Quarter in ISLINGTON Volume 01B Page 335
In 1881 William the father was widowed, now was vicar of Christ Church, Paddington, and he only had one son with him, though he did have his mother, Hester born in 1814 in Ireland, and a lady who became his second wife visiting. While the eldest son, Henry J, was at home, all the younger children were elsewhere.
In 1881 Archibald Carpenter, aged 8 and born in 1873 at Highbury, Mx in 1973 was also at school in Brighton with his brothers John, aged 9 and born in Highbury, Mx and William, as above.
In 1891 William Boyd Carpenter (no hyphen), the younger and of no occupation, was with three full siblings all born in Tetsworth and two half siblings, both born in Ripon, at the Episcopal Palace of Ripon, North Stainley, Ripon, Yorkshire.
In 1891 a preponderance of the rest of the family were at Hastings: All were Carpenters: William B the bishop of Ripon, Annie M his wife, an authoress, born in London in 1854, the bishop’s daughter Mary, a student of royal college of music, the bishop’s daughter Annie aged 20, the bishop’s son Archibald B a scholar aged 18. They were all classified as lodgers.
In 1939 Vivian F W, born on 11 Aug 1904 and a Company Secretary, was with his wife Frances E Boyd-Carpenter, born on 12 Feb 1911 and partly incapacitated. This looks like a second wife so the first either died or they divorced.
