Will notes for Charles Edward MacLean
His probate index:

MACLEAN Charles Edward Esq.
Effects under £600
863
15 December [ 1873 ]
The Will of Charles Edward Maclean late of 17 Norfolk-street Park-Lane in the County of Middlesex Esquire who died 18 September 1873 at 130 Westbourne-terrace in the said County was proved at the Principal Registry by William Henry Maclean of Beech Farm Allerton in the County of Lancaster Merchant the brother and Claud Hamilton Hamilton of Preston Hall Dalkeith Edinburgh in North Britain  Esquire the general Executors.

It sounds like some tragedy here with Charles Edward ending his life with a bare £600.  Beech Farm which his brother William owned or rented was where their mother died a year previously.  130 Westbourne-terrace was where where his eldest brother John George had lived for at least thirty years.  Claud Hamilton Hamilton had been born Brown and changed his name to Hamilton, creating the original Brown arms in the process; he was a firs cousin once removed of Charles Edward Maclean.
