His burial, (I hope it is his and not his son’s of the same name), transcript, by me:

The Revd. Anthony Aufrere A.M. was buried May 25 - Aged 77”

His grandson in his article on the family said that his grandfather married (1) Marieanne dfe Gastine of Holland and had two children, a dau. Susan who died young and the Anthony who married Anna Norris and then she died and he then married (2) Mrs Mary Smith widow who brought to tem the estate of her uncle at Hoveton St peter, saddled with debt which this Anthony then reimbursed. There do not appear to be any children by the second marriage.

I can find no records for the daughter Susan that his sone Anthony reported to have been his elders sister and who died young.

He went to Oriel Oxford and in Alumni Oxoniensis, 1715-1886), vol I, p. 41:

The he seems to have been appointed a curate in London on 1 June 1730.
He became rector of Heigham on 12 Jan 1732 under the jurisdiction of William Baker, bishop of Norwich.

Know all Men by these presents that We, Anthony Aufrere of St Anthone pish in Hoveton Clerk … … …
are holden and firmly bound to ye worshipful Robt Marsh M.A. official … of y … Consistory Court of Norwich lawfully constituted in Two Hundred Pounds, of good and lawful Money of Great Britain, to be paid to the said Robert Marsh or his certain attorney, Executors, Successors or Assigns; to which Payment well and truly is to be made, we bind ourselves and each of us by himself for the whole, our Heirs, Executors and Administrators, firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals. Dated the 1st Day of May in the Year of our Lord On Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty 4.
The Condition of this Obligation is such. That if there shall not hereafter appear any lawful Let or Impediment, by reason of any Pre-Contract, Consanguity, Affinity, or any other Cause whatsoever, but that the above-bound The Revd. Mr Anthony Aufrere Widr. and Mrs Mary Smith of St Peter of Manorsoft(?) in Norwch Widow may lawfully marry together, and that there is not any Suit depending before any Judge Ecclesiastical or Civil, for or concerning any such Pre-Contract: And that the Consent of the Parents, or other the Governors of the said Parties, be thereunto first had and obtained in the Face of the Parish Church of St Peter aforsaid on Hoveton St Peter in Norfolk between the hours of Eight and Twelve of the Clock in the Forenoon: And do and save harmless and indemnified the abovenamed Mr Robt Marsh his Surrogates, and all other his Officers and Successors in Office, for and concerning Premises.
