Mike Haddock’s account of him:
John Lock the younger, merchant of Bristol. Married Mariabel d/o Samuel Avery Alderman of the City of London. “John Lock the younger of the Citty of Bristol merchant”, died 15 Jun 1647, before his father, having written his Will 18 Oct 1643, pvd 25 Apr 1653 (PROB:11/231) recording inter alia: “my wife Mariebelle, her father Mr Samuel Avery; my lands at Bedminster & Laurence Weston in Westbury & Henbury; my son John; my youngest child; my father Mr John Locke & my mother Mrs Besshua Lock; my father Executor”. The ‘youngest child’ was presumably Samuel.
