Notes for Capt John Francis Wetherall
Probably he is the John Wetherall in the Army List of 1841 as a Captain in the 41st (the Welch) Regiment of Foot, promoted to that rank on 17 May 1831 for the regiment and on 3 May 1831 for the Army.
In the Times on 19th Nov 1821, there is a notice that, inter alia, John Wetherall was appointed Ensign by purchase in the 85th Foot, vice Molyneux who was promoted in the 39th foot.
In the Times of 14 Nov 1827, it was announced that Lt John Wetherall from the 94th Foot was to be Lieutenant, vice Atherton deceased.
He had but one daughter who was born posthumously.
