Notes for Janet Home
TFPL, May 2006: In “The Cockburn Family records” it says of William Cockburn:
“By his wife Janet Home (of the Wedderburn family probably) he had an only son William ...”
This is almost damned by faint priase but I am leaving Janet as the daughter of Homes of Wedderburn for the moment.

January 2013, TFPL: J Craig of Canada kindly passed on to me that the Humes of Wedderburn were the subject of a serious genealogical study in the Preface to the Historical Manuscripts Commission “Report of the Manuscripts of Colonel David Milne Home of Wedderburn Castle, N.B.”.
At last this was an authoritative study and I am delightd to accept its genealogy without question. (The fact that we have lost the Blackadder ancestry is a tragic by-product, but facts are facts!)
