On FreeBMD’s marriage record her surname is spelt ‘Hilhouse’. And on the 1958 Burke’s LG. So I’ve changed it from Hillhouse in Armorial Families.
In the 1881 census she describes herself as married (note, not widowed) and Head and is at Hen Hill Lodge, Hunstanton, Norfolk. I wonder if she and her hubby were separated at this time? She had with her the five unmarried daughters, no sons and two servants. She entered herself as an annuitant.
