Notes for John de Courcy Hamilton
Previously he was said to have d. in 1895 but this has been changed to follow FreeBMD; this is corroborated in the 1958 Landed Gents of Ireland.
In 1881 he was at his brother’s house in Devon, a retired gentleman farmer (sounds a bit of nonsense, when did gent farmers do any work?). Interestingly it also says he was born in France - and his brother in italy.
At the time of his dau. Mabel’s marriage in 1892 he was reported to be living at Exmouth, Devon.
On his son Henry’s death notice in The Times, it was said that he had been of The Manor House, Heacham, Norfolk.
