Notes for Hon & Rev Edward Townshend Dean of Norwich
There is a problem here: Burke in the 1885 Peerage edition gives his birth date as 11 May 1727.  On the other hand Ancestry has two entries saying the same with Margaret Etheldreda Harrison as his mother:

Name:               Edward Townshend
Gender:             Male
Christening Date:   11 May 1727
Christening Place:  Westminster, London, England
Father:             Charles Townshend
Mother:             Margaret Etheldreda Harrison

The only Harrison wife in the Townshend family was to the third Viscount Townshed, another Charles, and they too had a son Edward who died, from Burke, in 1731.  However this wife is said by Burke to be Audrey Harrison.

Complete Peerage agrees about the Harrison wife of the third viscount and says she was Audrey OR Etheldreda and they married ion 29th May 1723.

The edward who died in 1731 has an entry on the Bishop’s Trancript of the parish register:

“Edward Townshend son of Charles Ld Lynn and Elizabeth his wife was buried June the 29th”.

Lord Lynne was in fact Charles Townshend whore his father died and who had been called to the House of Lords incorrectly in his father’s barony of Lynne but which was correctly Townshend; eventually he became the third Viscount Townshend.  I do not know where Elizabeth his wife came from.

In fact it seems that he was born in 1719 and a very poor image of the baptism register has been obtained and reads something like this:

[  Norfolk  >  East Raynham  >  1706-1797  ]

“Edward Townshend son of Ld Visct Townshend and Dorothy his wife was born on 25 of October(?) and bapt on 22nd of November.”

His burial transcript (by me) from an image of the parish register:

[  Bath Abbey  >  1742-1792

“. . . .
“January   Funerals for the Year 1765
“. . . .
“30The Honble: Revd Edward Townshend D.D. Dean of Norwich was buried in this Church.”

Why he was buried in Bath Abbey and where he died are not kn own.
