His progeny are down as Weatheralls of Astley (or Ashley from the Duries?) Hall in Burke's 1894 Landed Gentry.
His 2nd s., Augustus White, went to Oxford and became a cleric.
His death is on FreeBMD under the name ‘Wetherall’.

In the 1841 Army List he had the rank of Full Colonel, had the status of KH (Knight of Hanover?) and was Lt-Col of the 1st (The Royal) Regiment of Foot.
In The Times of 30 May 1825, his appointment from Major to Lt-Col in the Army. He was then in the First Foot.
In Burke’s Peerage of 1849 he was listed as a knight of the Hanoverian Guelphic Order.

Curiously he is not to be found in the 1861 census when McCrea says he was “From 1860 to 1865 he was in command of the Northern District of England at Manchester.” Nor is he in the 1851 census when McCrea says he was at the Horse Guards from 1850 to 1854.

In fact he was in the 1851 cneusus carrying an enormous housholed of his family including his daughter and her four children and that of his widowed brother Frederick Augustus and his four daughters. His own family was:
