Will notes for Edith Pratt
G W Marshall’s “Miscellanea Marescallanea”, p. 84, list a will of Edith Marshall of Southampton at PCC in 1781.

I’ve downloaded a copy and the will was dated 1 August 1780 when she was already a widow.  She was living at Gosport, Alverstoke Southamptonshire.  She had previously lived at Bury House.

It was proved at London on 7th April 1781.

Her daughter Edith Maitland, widow, was her executor.

The principal beneficiary was Edith Maitland.

Other beneficiaries and people mentioned in the will were:

Edith Maitland’s unnamed children, including two sons,
Her son Capt Samuel Marshall,
Her late brother-in-law Thomas Foulks,
Her son Capt Marshall’s two daughters and son,
Her cousin William Wheatley Hussey,
