Notes for Isabel Carew
Was she the mother of all these Saunders children?
A visitation of the Throckmorton Carews seems to say not, but the will of Sir Nicholas makes strange provision for his 2nd wife, Margaret Bostock, and enjoins his sons to look after her without even hinting that she was their mother. Sounds like Marageret Bostock was a step-mother.
Old Leo Culleton (Of Culleton's Heraldics) seemed to think Isabel was the mother.
When did Isabel Carew die? Is there any mention in Ewell church or its parish records?
Yes. See the entry for her son, Sir Nicholas, who was was left £300 by his uncle, Sir Francis Carew, d.1611.
