1574 the only child, termed young by the herald.
1585-6 matriculated at Broadgates Hall, Oxon, aged 17, termed gen. cond. (=nobly born).
He married Joan of Sulham. Their grandson, Richard Lybbe of Sulham, called John the son and heir of RICHARD the Sewar.
1593 virtually given Hawe Place by his father, but six years later he leased it to someone else. (PL vii 11-13)
1599 bequeathed by his father only the farm of Uplambourn, Berks.
1602/3 a witness in a case (Town Depositions, Bundle 298, Initial G)
1613 His mother made her lovinge sonne John Libbe one of the overseers of her will, but his younger brother Richard was its executor and the residuary legatee.
1617 witness to a will in Tidmarsh (Snell's Wills)
c. 1625 died (according to his grandson).

Interestingly the 1574 visitation referred to him as "sonne and heire" (p. 174).

He is a likely person for this entry in the Lincoln’s Inn Admissions book, Vol 1, p. 98:
“folio 116. May 13 1583 JOHN LYBBE, of Devon, barr., Lyon’s Inn.”
