Notes for Olga Mary Powys-Lybbe
She is the first person ever to be born with the name of Powys-Lybbe. Though FreeBMD has her birth surname as Lybbe.
St Mary's Wallingford Baptism Register:
"1882 Nov 19 POWYS LYBBE Olga Mary d. William Reginald, gent. & Sarah, Croft House, Tunbridge Wells VCSM"
Martin P-L writes:
Married Douglas Argles Collard, son of Ernest Collard of Stodmarsh Manor, Canterbury, who had himself married a French actress - though the 1881 census has his wife born in Kent and the father named David, but definitely Stodmarsh Court and Collard!

Was she also born a "mere" POWYS? No, her father changed his name by deed poll a month or two before she was born.
In the 1901 census she was pupil at some school at Folkestone, Kent (location on another sheet of the census) aged 18 and born at Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Her birth name in FreeBMD is down as: Ly[b_][b_][e_] or as ‘Powys-Lygbe’; I’ve told them.

TFPL, Oct 2007: From her early 20s photographs of holidays in Switzerland, she was a lively person. From Robert Denne, her grandson, she was still good company into late old age with a fund of amusing stories. I had the suspicion that her daughters gained their nicknames at her hands.
Robert relates that in her youth she was usually known as Maria. Her brother RCLP-L in his 1902-8 photograph albums always subtitles her as OM or, occasionally, O-M.
