Notes for Warin de Lisle Lord Lisle |
m. (2) Joan Wynnow who dsp; her parentage is not known.
Smyth in his Lives of the Berkeleys names him "Gerrard Warren lord de Lisle"; it is not clear whether Smyth was confused (his genealogy of the Lisle family is unclear) or whether this name was in fact used by Warin, son of Gerard. personally I suspect that Smyth has confused together Warin, the father of Margaret, with Gerard the father of Warin.
Smith correctly says that a Warin Lisle married Alice Tyes, heir to the Tyes barony, but he lost a generation. |
