Smtih found in the Berkeley accounts that at the wedding, the groom's father was sick and unable to attend but he sent three knights clad in liveries of "fine cloth of ray furred with miniver", 23 esquires in liveries of "courser ray and less costly furre". The groom was in scarlet and satin and a silver girdle. The grrom's father at home dressed himself in a "sute of panno deaurate, which I think I may English, cloth of gold".
