CP says he was KG. But this cannot be found in the list of KGs in Grace Holmes’ “The order of the Garter 1348-1984” nor in Illustrated Catalogue of the Stall Plates issued in 2014 with copyright of the Dean and Canons of Windsor.
Though it does seem that the Pierrepoints who became dukes of Kingston did have a couple of KGs in their number.
Does this correction need to go to Chris Phillips, I wonder?
