Notes for Grace Pierrepoint
Burke’s peerage, 107th edn of 2003, says she was sister of Robert Pierrepoint, first earl of Kingston. CP says that Robert the first earl was born in 1594 and was son and heir of Sir Henry Pierrepoint, of Holme Pierrepoint, Notts.
If we accept this birth date for Robert then his sister is likely to have been born within five years or so of that very date. But CP also says that she married in 1594. My strong positive suspicion is that there were two henry Pierrepoints, father and son; Grace was the son of the first henry and Robert the son of the second. So I am not convinced that Grace was the sister of the first earl of Kingston.
