Notes for Blanche Evelyn
She gave her birth year and place in the 1891 and 1901 censuses as 1857 and Bodmin, Cornwall.

But the censuses do not give her maiden name. No marriage can be found for her. We know that her husband was in the Army and their first child was born in the Straits Settlements in 1884. I wonder if she was somehow in that area with her parents and that may be how they met and then married.

First, to search for any birth records for a Blanche Evelyn who was born in Bodmin, Cornwall around 1857.
This produced this single entry on FindMyPast (the GRO Online index cannot be searched for a surname):

The second source for Blanche’s maiden name is the registration for their second child who was born in England and whose mother’s maiden name should be on the on-line index.
Their second child, Henry Bartholomew, was born in England in c.1893 in Rugby, Leics. His baptism was in St Matthews’s church, Rugby, Warks on 15th October 1892. His registration is not on the on-line GRO but is on FindMYPast but with no mother’s maiden name for Q4 of 1892 in Rugby District, Warks, vol 6d, p. 554 or 558. I have reported the missing entry to the GRO and hope that in due course they will produce the data.
Otherwise, so far, we have one possible evidence that Blanche’s maiden name was Lucas but this really does need some confirmation.

Her age at death on 6 Dec 1937 gives her birth anywhere from 7 Dec 1855 to 6 Dec 1956, with a mean average of June 1856. That is, if her age at death was reported correctly. And it agrees with the birth in Bodmin suggested in the above registration index.

Notes for Henry Stopford & Blanche Evelyn (Family)
The only information about their marriage or coming together is the 1911 census which says that on census day they had been married for 28 years. This places their marriage any time from April 1882 to March 1883. So I have entered it as c.Sep 1882. I still have no idea where they got together.
