Notes for Marguerite Louisa Greathed MacDowell
Her birth cannot be identified on Irish records, but the censuses give her report of c. 1862 in Dublin, Ireland. And she survived to have her birth date given in the 1939 Register.
___________________
At marriage she was Margaret MacDowell in her signature. Later on she became Marguerite Louisa Greathed née MacDowell.
___________________
In 1901 she had her daughter and three staff with her. Her daughter was then 11.
In 1911 she had both her daughter and son with four staff with her and reported that she had had two children, both of whom were living. Her daughter was then 21.
In 1939 it is probably she, incapacitated, who was with her daughter and two grandchildren, one who was her daughter’s and one who was her son’s at Walverley House, Goring, Henley R.D., Oxfordshire. The birth date given for her agrees with that in previous censuses:

Subsequently Norah’s marriage with Edward Dickin was found thus confirming the above 1939 record as including Marguerite and giving her birth date.
