There was a marriage between a Robert H Stopford and Vanessa I James in 2001 in Wiltshire but his death two years later makes me wonder if it was him. A marriage certificate would soon tell.
In fact his will named her so it is settled. But her birth has not been identified so the marriage certificate could still start to solve that. But he made no reference to any pregnancy or children in his will, so I don’t think it is worth taking this any further.

2. His wife Vanessa Isabel Stopford of Cool Bank Cottage, Winson, Cirecncester
3. His sister Serena Margaret Holmes
In addition he listed:
4. His nephew Andrew Holmes,
5. His nephew Richard Holmes
6. His niece Bridget Paulson

The above confirms that he married Vanessa Isobel James. But I cannot find the connection to Bridget Paulson. Later: Bridget Holmes married one Andrew G Paulson and was given the misspelt forename of Brigdit; this meant that I had not identified her marriage correctly. Anyhow she had a son Christopher Andrew.
