Her baptism at St Mary, East farleigh on 27th Sept 1887, no 432, as Edith Stella, dau of Eilliam Edmund Wood and Margaret Elizabeth Collins, of Langley Hall, Slough, Gentleman by Francis E Allen, vicar.

I cannot identify any marriage for her, far too many Edith (S) Collins marriages.

But in 1964 an Edith S Collins born in 1888 died in Repton district, Derbyshire. But it was Edith Sarah.

In her father’s will, the above conundrums started to be unravelled. His daughter had married Col Lionel Grant Oliver. Can we find this? Did they have any children?
And they did marry, in 1920 in Freebridge Lynn, when she was 33.

There are fourteen Oliver births from 1920 to 1940 with the mother’s maiden name of Collins. They can’t all be hers. It will be difficult working out which were hers.
There are 5 Edith S deaths from from 1933 to 1953 and one probate for Edith Stella Oliver in 1936 which sounds very much like her. See her Will Notes. They show she was already a widow in 1936.

“In the parish of Heacham in the County of Norfolk in the yearOne thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, Edith Stella Oliver of Summer Hill Heacham was buried on April 7th 1936 aged 48 years by G G Merlin vicar.”
