This was found on a web-site for Hereforshire Country Council dated 30th Sep 2016:
“This weekend sees the retirement of Rev. Preb. Paul Towner as the Vicar of St Peter & St James and his impending move to Chester from Hereford after 17 years of loyal service to the City and County in his current role.”
Elsewhere it is said that he was then 65 so born in 1951.

Burke reports: “Preb Paul Towner, only s of Reginald Towner, of Fleet, Hants”
There was a Paul Towner born in Q3 of 1951 in Croydon, Surrey. The mother was Faulkner. There was a marriage of Reginald Towner to Marjorie E Faulkner in 1945 in Eastbourne, Sussex. There is a strong chance that this 1951 birth was that of this Paul Towner. But it would need his marriage certificate to confirm his father’s name and this birth certificate to confirm both the parents names.
