On a journey to New York she stated for the Passenger List for the SS Bremen on the 28th July 1937 that she was born, with an entry of December 21st 1915, possibly her birth, in New York and was a USA citizen. This may account for the several trips they may have made to New York.

In 1939 she was staying with her in-laws, the parents of her husband and gave her date of birth as: 21 Dec 1915, which happens to be exactly the date she gave on the above journey to USA in 1937
