My guess is that Richard Thesiger was a cousin.
Her will had ben ordered to see if she give a list of relatives.

Her will was dated 12th June 1952, a couple of years before her death and she appointed Richard Edward Knight Thesiger, barrister and her nephew, and Susanna Grace lister as her executors.
In the will she listed:
1. Her brother Admiral Bertram Sackville Thesiger,
2. Her brother Ernest Frederick Graham Thesiger,
3. Her friend Maria Isabel Stephen
4. Her friend Dorothy Grace Lawson
5. Her niece Patience Elizabeth Florita Thesiger, her principal residuary legatee,
6. The son Andrew of Corisande Dawson, her minor residuary legatee.

Richard Edward Knight Thesiger was the only son of her eldest brother Arthur Lionel Bruce Thesiger. And Patiance Thesiger was the only daughter of the latter. Patience and Richard were siblings. Patience had no children. Richard’s issue survives to the present day.
