One problem with his records is that there may have been two Charles Henry Adderleys or he married twice within eight years. I can’t see the birth for the other one; so both might be him but the first marriage was in 1982 in Bradford to Elizabeth Jane Atherton and the second was in 1990 in Ryedale to Jacqueline Smith.
Burke has a record only of the first marriage.
The first marriage produced no Adderley children with a mother’s maiden name of Atherton.
The second marriage had these children:

The answer is that he did marry twice. Marriage certificate received on Monday 25th October and shows:
(a) That his full name was Charles Henry Adderley,
(b) That the marriage was on 2 Jun 1990 at the Register Office of Rydale district, N Yorks,
(c) That he was 35 years old, making him born from Jun 1954 to May 1955, agreeing with the above birth registration,
(d) His previous marriage was dissolved,
(e) His father was Michael Charles Adderley and was a Group Captain (RAF) retired.
This firmly confirms his parentage and that both the marriages found were his.

My guess is that for her name, above, where it says “name changed by Deed Poll” this was very likely that she changed her previous married name to her maiden name by Deed Poll.
