Notes for Jane Margrethe Adderley
Her parents were posted out to Australia in 1956. If, as Burke’s Peerage reports, she was born on 22 July 1957 this would have been in Australia so no record of her birth will be publicly available until 100 years after that. She should also be visible in the 1961 English census if they returned by then and if not in 1971; but these too will not be released until 100 years later, namely 2061-2 or 2071-2.
The only evidence we can access now is her marriage in 1982 which will include a statement of her age and from which a birth year can be deduced. I may resort to the necessary tenner to obtain this.
The marriage certificate was received on 26th October. It reported for her:
(a) The marriage was on 5 Aug 1982,
(b) Her full name was Jane Margrethe Adderley,
(c) On her marriage date she was 25 years old, so born from Aug 1956 to July 1957,
(d) Her father was Michael Charles Adderley, Group Captain in RAF,
(e) She was a newspaper’s promotions executive.

By the usual search for Blackburh-Adderley births over the 20 years after marriage, this produces two children, twins, the same as those reported by BP.
