The only Thorp to Cummins marriages are
1839 in Hayfield, Derbys for a James and Jane
1840 in St Pancras, London for a Samuel Alfred and Margaret Ellen.
Both sound a little early but not impossible. The next step is to look at the 1871 census to see if we can find Elizabeth Ann Thorp.
In 1971 there is no Elizabeth Ann Thorp who was born in Leeds nor in all of Yorkshire but there are 13 Elizabeths born in all of England, one of which was Elizabeth Ann whose birth place was blank.
In 1881 again there were no Elizabeth Ann Thorps born in Leeds, and none also in Yorkshire. Just to confuse, in the whole country there are several who were born in Yorkshire including one Elizabeth Thorp who said she was born in Ferrybridge, Yorkshire and was a servant with a family in Leeds.
The only place to continue with is with her marriage certificate which will give her age and father’s name and occupation.
