At marriage to John Whitehouse in Feb 1865 she said her father was “William Eccleston forgeman”. But there is absolutely no record I can find of any such father of any Emma (or Emily?) Eccleston.
Did Emily have a father called William? I don’t think so. If she didn’t, what else of her information might be unreliable? It is very difficult to say. The only true answer is that we do not know. It mightbe best to put this to bed currently and re-examine it later when some of the misconceptions might have cleared.
