No children found for her and James harrington.

She was not found on the 1939 Register.  I searched just with her forenames and her birth date and she was not to be found.  Nor was she at her parents.

There was a Marjorie N Harrington who m. a Bernard M Bardwell in Q4 of 1930 in Brentford Middlesex, which would account for her not being found in 1939.

Also there was a Marjorie Nora who died on 18 March 1985 in Bournemouth and had £63614 at probate.  This person had her death registration in Windsor and Maidenhead and was given a birth date of 4 Sep 1898.  This is looking very much like her.

So I have ordered her will so see what it says.

They may have moved to Scotland after marriage and had children there.

Two children has been identified:

1. Deborah Ann Harrington, god-daughter of Audrey Beatrice Lys, sister of this Marjorie Nora Harrington, née Lys.  See Audrey Beatriuce Lys’ Will Notes).  If Deborah was under 18, the legacy was to be sent ℅ A P Harrington: probably the next, Andrew Patrick Harrington.

2. Andrew Patrick Harrington, of the same address as Deborah Ann, another beneficiary in Audrey’s will.

These need a fresh look at the Scots records to see if their births can be identified there.

It looks like he married Pauline Chambers in 1951 in Croydon, Surrey.

So, above, I got that wrong.  The people in Audrey Beatrice Lys’s will were her nephew A P H and his daughter, her gt-niece, Deborah Anne.

Said Deborah is one or none of 10 marriages in England and Wales from 1981 to 2005.  No idea if any of those are hers!

But Marjorie Nora Harrington died in England, her death index, but with her birth date one day out from the baptism record:

See her will notes for a declaration of her family, three of whom were mentioned.  Of these Peter Leslie had not been found before but his birth is on Scotland’s People, twice:

We now have four candidates for her offspring, first the above three and last the fourth as an addition from her will.  Let’s put them in order and see if births, spouses and any deaths can be found:

In conclusion, I am going to leave out James C Lys.  It is so tempting to assume that he was the son of Marjorie Nora Lys, but there is no free evidence for this.  His birth is on the Scots records as that is where they all seem to have been born, but the Scots indices do not include the mother’s maiden name so we cannot be sure that his mother was a Lys.  I could get a copy of the certificates but these are £12 each and this is over the top for a very distant history of fourth cousins and more distant than that.  The contrast with the English and Welsh habit of including the mother’s maiden name is invidious.

Hooray!  I now think I have good evidence of her family.
