A marriage occurred in Q2 of 1888 between a Mary Eleanor Carroll in Brentford Middlesex and one of these three: Thomas Main Patterson, Isabel Dawson Chermside, Harry Joseph Dyer.  Now to see if matching names and birth dates can be found on the 1991 census:

Fairly remarkable it was the first with the census clearly saying she was born in Putney Surrey.  They had two daughters and were at 19 Aigburth Road, Garston, West Derby, Lancashire:
