TFPL, 2016: Her surname was originally told to me as Eaton but their marriage index is clearly Caton. However on the birth index for both her children, her maiden name is given as Eaton, so it has beeen changed back to Eaton. And the marriage certificate has been ordered.

The 1939 marriage certificate is fairly clearly Caton too. It gives her father’s name as Frederick and he was a dairy owner, by then retired.
One of the marriage winesses was a Virginia Caton, presumably a sister. But no birth can be found for this name. However there is a birth if a Virginia Eaton in Q4 of 1921 in Fylde (Blackpool area) with a mother’s maiden name of DelGuerra. So both, at least for the wedding, had changed their surname from Eaton to Caton.
