The 1871 census proved her husband to be Phips Onslow, rector of Upper Sapey(?), confirmed by having her right birth place, Hargen Grange, Yorks and her sister Mary as a visitor, aged 39 and born in Inida. Jane’s birth place now becomes clear as Harden Grange, later known as St Ives, in Bingley, the Ferrand family seat.
