1876 Rogers, Jessy, Effects under £200. 11 September, The will with a codicil of Jessy Rogers, formerly of 18 Abbey-gardens, St. John's Wood in the County of Middlesex, but late of 25 Union-grove, Clapham, in the County of Surrey, widow, who died 11 August 1876, at 25 Union-grove was proved at the Principal Registry by the Rev. John Taffy of Caldecote Lodge, Biggleswade in the County of Bedford, Clerk, the sole Executor.

Her will of 8th April 1870:

I Jessy Rogers of 16 Abbey Gardens St John's Wood in the County of Middlesex widow hereby revoke all wills codicils and other testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will and testament whereas my late husband Jacob Glynn Rogers by his last will and testament dated the twenty seventh day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine gave and devised all his share of the family estate consisting of house property situate in the City and Garrison of Gibraltar unto me and the Reverend John Taddy of Coldrest Lodge Biggleswade in the County of Bedford their heirs executors and administrators respectively according to the tenure thereof respectively upon trust to sell and convert the same into money at such times and in such manner as they or the survivor of them or the .......administrators of such survivors (hereinafter called the trustee or trustees) should think fit and invest the money to arise from such sale and conversions in the name of the trustee or trustees in any of the modes of investment in the now r...ing will mentioned and the trustee or trustees were by the said will directed to pay the annual income of the said trust funds for me for life and after my death to stand possessed of the said trust prom...d in trust for all or such one or more exclusively of the other or others of my said husband's children upon such conditions and in such manner and form as I should be deed with or without power of revocation and new appointment or by will or codicil appoint and in default of such appointment upon the trusts therein confirmed and the said testator appointed me and the said John Taddy executrix and executor of his said will and whereas my said husband died on the sixth day of September one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine without having revoked or altered his said will and the same was duly proved by me and the said John Taddy on the twentieth day of September one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine in the principal Registry of Her Majesty's Court of Probate now in exercise of the said power to me for this purpose given by the hereinbefore said will as aforesaid and of every or any other power and authority in anyway enabling me in this behalf I do hereby appoint that the said family estate consisting of house property situate in the City and Garrison of Gibraltar or the money to arise from any sale or sales to be made thereof under the power in that behalf contained in the hereinbefore recited will and other the as heredaments and premised monies stocks funds and securities which shall at my death be comprised in and subject to the trusts of the hereinbefore recited will and the dividends interests and income thereof respectively shall be held by the trustee or trustees for the time being of such will in trust as to one equal fourth part thereof for my daughter Frances Elizabeth Taddy widow absolutely as to one other equal fourth part thereof in trust for my son Henry Gordon Rogers a Captain in Her Majesty's Army absolutely as to one other equal fourth part thereof in trust for my daughter Charlotte Ann McAllum (wife of George Donald McAllum Esquire) absolutely and as to the remaining equal one fourth part thereof in trust or my daughter Jessy Georgina Rogers absolutely and I direct that each of the shares of my said three daughters shall be paid assigned or transferred to each of them for their sole and separate use independently of each of their respective present or any future husbands and of their or his debts control and engagements and I hereby dispose of my own real and personal estate as follows I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wherever unto and to the use of my said son henry Gordon Rogers and my three daughters Frances Elizabeth Taddy, Charlotte Ann McAllum and Jessy Georgina Rogers and their respective heirs executors and administrators as tenants in common in equal shares and I hereby appoint the Reverend John Taddy Executor of this my will in witness whereof I the said Jessy Rogers have to this my last will and testamentary appointment set my hand this eight day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy   JESSY ROGERS
Signed and declared by the said Jessy Rogers as and for her last will and testament and testamentary appointment in the presence of us present together at the same time who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses: John J Bockell Lincoln's Inn Fields Solc, John Tame Clerk to Messers Bockell, Solicitors Co, Lincoln's Inn Fields.

Her codicil of 2nd April 1870:

THIS IS A CODICIL to the last will and testament of me Jessy Rogers dated the eighth day of April one hundred eight hundred and seventy I direct that the respective shares of my daughters which I have bequeathed to them by my will of my own personal estate shall be paid assigned or transferred to each of them for their sole and separate use independently of each of their respective present or any future husbands and of their or his debts control and engagements In witness whereof I the said Jessy Rogers have to this Codicilto my last will and testament set my hand this second day of April one thousand eight hundred and seventy four  JESSY ROGERS
Signed and declared by the said Jessy Rogers as and for a Codicil to her last will and testament in the presence of us present together at the same time who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses: John J Bockell Lincoln's Inn Fields Solc, Alf Hunt, his Clerk.
Proved at London with a Codicil, 11th of September, 1876 by the oath of the Reverend John Taddy Clerk the sole executor to whom admin was granted
