Her birth is not found on FreeBMD from 1838 to 1842, neither as Emily Jane with no surname or as Lodington with no forenames.
In 1881 she was married but head of the household, where was hubby? Note that her birth year has now become 1842. Both the sons were working and there was no servant, so money was probably tight:
