Might one of these have been his marriage:

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page

Andre Blanche St Saviour 1d 13
Hamilton Augustus St Saviour 1d 13
Haynes John Edward St Saviour 1d 13
Lodington Emily Jane St Saviour 1d 13

St Saviour is in the area of Lambeth where his wife was born.  It looks to me as if he married her some time after setting up home together.  Perhaps this is why the Burke contributor says he d.unm.  I am now assuming that his lady was this Emily.

On McCrae’s pedigree there is a disconnected line of children with no parents and which may be intended to be his children.  If so, they are:
Edith, m. Mr Hartley
Charles, m. Eliza Letitia Clitheroe,
Harry
Florence m. Laurence Clarke

And the 1871 census shows precisely those children.

Neither of these marriages can be found on the English + Welsh FreeBMD.
