Might this have been him in the 1901 census? The entry is is only William Nash born in Lincs between 1868 and 1871, and unmarried. Another feature is that Crowthorne is not far from Wokinghamd where he was married 7 years later: might this job have led to his getting to know Ida?
The clincher is that a year after his birth, he was on the 1871 census and his father was Rector of Belleau, and he was born there and this is why this was entered in this 1901 census:
