In 1881 she was at a Girls school at 13 Arundel terrace, Brighton; it had 17 pupils, three sisters in their 40s as joint heads and two other teachers.
In 1891 she was not to be found in that census: married? No marriage found on FreeBMD, save one in 1920 to an Arthur R Ricketts.

Burke’s Peerage says she married a Col W Ward in 1890 but no record is found of this, nor in the 191 census.
But in 1901 she is found staying with her aunt Ethel Louisa Haslam, nee Brown, in Bromley, Kent. She had with her her daughter Kathleen who was born in 1898 in Ireland.
