Notes for Dorothy Griffiths
McCrea gave her name as Griffith but the British BMD marriage index says it was Griffiths.
I cannot identify her on the 1901 census: too many Dorothy Griffiths. Let’s hope I remember her when the 1910 census comes down to a sensible price.
On FreeBMD there is no Dorothy Griffiths born in the Cumberland area, though there are far too many born in the rest of the country.
Her marriage certificate should give her father’s name.

In 1911 she was down as Adele Dorothy Claremont aged 26 and born in Brussels.

These are probably her children, the only Claremonts whose mother’s maiden name is Griffiths:
