He and Affra did indeed have three sons named Phineas, all dying as infants or young.

On 30 Mar 1732 a John Stringer m. a Mary Jennings.  Might they have been Phineas’ parents?

In St Mary’s registers, his forename was most often spelled ‘Phinehas’.  But in St James, he was always Phineas.
Will notes for Phineas Stringer
His will with codicil was signed on 25 Oct 1800.

He referred to his late dear wife and then only to:

His son George
His daughter Affra Broderip
His granddaughter harriet Stringer Broderip.

There was NO mention of any Susanna or Anna Latham or her children.

My strong suspicion is that Susanna did not survive and was not the wife of Samuel Latham, subsequently confirmed by finding her burial entry aged around 18 months..
